Working on the beauty beat for Her World means that bags and bags of beauty goodies land on our desks every single day. We are spoilt for choice for sure, and a big part of our job is to sample skincare, hair, body, and makeup products to our hearts content. But it's also dangerous terrain because, well, once you've figured out by trial and error what the best products for you are, there's no turning back. I mean, there's really no substitute for a product that's perfectly suited to you, and that consistently gives you the best results.

We're going to let you in on our secrets here... the beauty stuff we will spend our hard-earned money on. The essentials that we now can't live without.

1. Shiseido's Future Solution LX range, $1,167. My skin isn't the same without Shiseido's Future Solution range. It makes my complexion smoother, glowier, firmer and more supple.
2. Facials at My Cozy Room Boutique Spa, $188. The facials at this spa at Cairnhill Road are great for detoxing and calming my skin. I love the massages that comes with the facial, there's one for the eyes and the face, and another for the head and shoulders too.

1. Hair cut and colouring, $400. Changing my hair colour is the easiest way for me to switch up my look. My hairstylist, Vinvvi from VC Hair salon, is very good with colours like brown, ash brown and blonde and my hair is always shiny and feels super soft, and remains that way, even after it's bleached. No other hairstylist I've been to has been able to do that for my constantly coloured hair.
2. Shiseido Future Solution LX Eye & Lip Contour Regenerating Cream E, $192. My laugh lines are starting to get more pronounced so I need this dense cream every night to help prevent them from becoming even more obvious, plus it keeps the delicate skin around my eyes soft and hydrated.
Total damage: $592

1. Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer, $599, gets my hair dry in half the time, and styles my hair very effectively. It is also much quieter and sleeker than the usual hairdryer.
2. Hair perming, $480. I perm my hair at least once a year because it makes my naturally straight hair look less flat, and gives me an effortless style for the everyday.
3. Chanel Coco Mademoiselle EDP, $237 for 100ml, works very well with my skin's chemistry and gets me compliments everytime.
Total damage: $1,316

1. La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream, $500. This version of La Mer cream is favourite because it doesn't leave a greasy after-feel but is rich enough to hydrate my skin when I sleep in an air-conditioned room.
2. Guerlain Rouge G De Guerlain, $77, gets the award for the most beautifully-designed lipstick in the universe. Not only is it sleek and stylish, it's also got a built-in-mirror and the colour is so pigmented, lasts long and feels so comfortable.
3. Tangle Teezer brush, $35, trying this hair brush for the first time was truly life-changing for me. It takes care of the kinks and knots without pulling on my scalp at all.
Total damage: $612

1. La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift Cream, $560. No eye cream can take the place of La Prairie for me, my eyes look brighter, less tired and my lines are smoothed out instantly.
2. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Vitae Forte Eau de Parfum, $320, brings me to a happy place because of its luminous, citrusy notes.
3. Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer, $116. Concealers don't get better than this, it melts into the skin and makes everything look airbrushed.
4. Cle de Peau Beaute Synactif Cream, $1,800, is just next level amazing. When I use it for three consecutive days, I can leave the house without foundation because my skin is healthy, happy and radiant. But it is so pricey, I reserve it for special occasions or as an S.O.S rescue treatment.
