I am a very pragmatic person who happens to hate waking up early. People would have to literally drag me out of bed on Sunday mornings as a kid, and a lot of them have described me as a dead log when asleep. I don’t actually hate mornings, I just find the whole waking up process really painful when it isn’t bright out.
Which is why even now, as an adult, I’m all about maximising sleep when it comes to my morning beauty routine. If my hair looks presentable, I try not to wash it. Sure, part of the reason is laziness, but the other (more important) part is maintaining my hair colour. On mornings I don’t have to wash my hair, it can take me all of half an hour to get ready, between the time I get out of bed and the time I’m out the door. Of course, this involves me spending as little time as possible on my face, while still looking presentable and covering all my bases in terms of essentials like deodorant and sunscreen.
Some days, this means I have five minutes to do my face, while other days, I might allow myself up to 15 minutes and catch the later bus to work. Depending on how much time I have, my skincare and makeup routine varies. I will say though, that my routine and resulting makeup look is pretty basic and fuss-free. Because when it comes to a night out and I’m looking to pull out all the stops and go full glam, it takes me at least half an hour to do my face.

And if you notice, I’ve also included my favourite Kiehl’s deodorant in each slide, because if you care at all about the well-being of the people you’re going to run into or be around for the rest of the day (this personal opinion is very much a result of my experiences dealing with morning and evening peak hour commutes), you should never leave home without deodorant!
