Naples, the city in Italy, known for its rustic charm, cultural relics and delicious pizzas, is going to gain fame for something else – makeup and Chanel.

Drawing inspiration from the hometown of Chanel’s Global Creative Designer Lucia Pica, the new Chanel spring/summer 2018 beauty collection aptly named “Neopolis: New City” features the warm and rich colours of the Mediterranean. This makeup collection compiled by Pica that comprises of an eyeshadow palette, nail varnishes and lippies that capture the most spectacular and defining elements of the city – its colours, architecture and adornments.

The Chanel Neopolis: New City Spring Summer Collection for 2018 will be available at all Chanel Fragrance and Beauty Boutiques from, 28 Dec, and at all Chanel Fragrance and Beauty Counters from 5 Jan (with the exception of the limited edition nine-colour eyeshadow palette, 9 Ombres N°1 Alfresco which will be available at the Chanel Fragrance and Beauty Boutique in ION Orchard from 28 Dec).

Les 9 Ombres N°1 Alfresco ($139)

 


Central to the collection is the versatile eyeshadow palette that contains brighter shades, perfect for when you go on holiday as well as muted and more neutral shades that are great for every day. These buildable shades that come in three different finishes (matte, metallic and satin) and can be worn on its own or used to create many different kinds of looks, from adding a light wash of colour to an intense bold smokey look.

The blush arrives in the shade that recalls the majestic mountain view of the city at sunset.

 

Poudre A Levres ($53)

 

 

Inspired by the traditional tempera technique used to create the ancient frescoes in Pompeii, this palette includes a pigmented powder and moistursing balm. If you’re on the search for a lip product that will last all day, you won’t go wrong with this palette.

The lip ink that is said to draw inspiration from the women in Naples comes in two shades - Enchanting, a matte finish orange red hue and Ethera, a peach pink shade.

Chanel nailed it with their nail varnishes. Perfect for the warmer months, the nail polishes arrive in four shades, pastel pink, mint green, bright orange and yellow, reminiscent of the beautiful frescoed palaces of the city.
