Jasmine Danker is a personal trainer with umpteen qualifications and experience working with everyone from new mums to Ironman trainees. She believes in balance, not physical perfection. Even the most beautiful people can have beauty woes, and Jasmine says she has plenty. So she shared with us some of the top tips she uses to maintain her skin.
Being a personal trainer, Jasmine spends a lot of time outdoors. The harsh sun, coupled with carelessness with sunscreen, can take a toll on the skin causing wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and so-called ‘runner’s face’. Her top tip is to use tinted mineral sunscreen for sensitive skin. “It lessens the odds of clogged pores and breakouts, plus the tint means you can save time on makeup!” She also carries a spray-on sunscreen that she can reapply easily throughout the day.
Her active lifestyle leads to one very sticky issue: sweat. Cue the acne – not a good look. Jasmine washes with a medicated foaming cleanser after every workout to combat constant breakouts. When she feels a zit rearing its ugly head, her emergency treatment is a mini ice pack and applying it to the affected areas. “I grab an ice cube from the fridge, wrap it around a clean paper towel and press it onto the zit. The cool ice helps to reduce the redness of the emerging pimple and makes it less obvious."
Finally to remedy the early symptoms of stress and aging, she uses Olay’s Regenerist Miracle Duo. “I use the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Eessence and the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, with ingredients that help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores. I’ve found that it firms the skin too. Even better, I’ve found that it seems to boost the penetration of anti-aging actives in my moisturiser and encourages cell renewal for a brighter complexion. All in all, this combo has given me stunning skin. I feel like I’m 10 years younger!”
