The treatment includes a cleansing, including extractions if needed, a mask and a relaxing neck and shoulder massage, alongside the use of the IONTO-SONO LDM machine from Germany – basically this means IONTO for Iontophoresis; SONO for ultrasound and LDM for Lymphatic drainage massage; the facial uses Dermalogica products.

REVIEW: The 85 minute long Super Lifting Face Treatment from AsterSpring combines quality facial products from Dermalogica with a low-frequency radio wave facial massage to help tighten and tone your face.

After having your skin assessed using a “Skin Scanner”, the beauty therapist will then adjust your treatment – in my case I need a little blackhead extraction and more hydration.

The treatment, done by Jocelyn Lim, one of AsterSpring’s senior skin care therapists, begins with a thorough cleansing and the extractions which were fairly gentle; before a series of serums are applied.

For the next 20 minutes or so a serum consisting of a combination of professional serum and concentrates from the Dermalogica AGE Smart series containing pure, concentrated vitamins A, C and E are massaged into the face with the IONTO-SONO LDM machine, particularly on the cheeks and jawline area, to help the active ingredient penetrate into the lower layers of skin and to help stimulate the muscles.

Jocelyn then applied a soothing hydrating mask for another 20 minutes or so, before applying more serums and creams and giving me a very relaxing massage.

My skin felt immediately smoother and “plumper” after the treatment, although I did break-out a little the following day, probably due to the addition hydration.

While I can’t say I’ve seen any noticeable improvement in the firmness of my skin, or even a discernible reduction in pore size – I’m told I have very fine pores anyway – colleagues I looked noticeably “brighter” in the days after the treatment; which is always a good thing.
