With her retro approach to beauty, Dita Von Teese takes immaculate glamour to a whole new level.

The burlesque star never looks less than sensational but she’s not immune to having beauty regrets.

“I think the beauty looks I most regret are those I was persuaded into,” she told Vogue this month. “There have been moments where I've been coerced into posing with very little make-up, or with pale lips.

“Some photographers think they're being really clever, or doing something new by stripping away the elements of glamour from my look. That would be what I've regretted most, in terms of beauty - being coerced into being something I'm not and being made to feel vulnerable.”

If you fancy recreating Dita’s trademark vintage glamour, here are some tips for achieving that unmistakable old-school Hollywood chic.

Eyes
You might think lips are key to Dita’s look but take a closer look and you’ll see that it’s her eyes which really set off the retro burlesque feel.

Brows need to be bold so if yours are looking a little thin, use an eyebrow pencil to fill them in for statement arches.

Dita’s natural eyelashes are blonde so she has them dyed to achieve her trademark drama. For this look, invest in a good mascara, such as L’Oreal Lash Architect, which will elongate your lashes. Lips
