Gucci has announced that Gossip Girl star Blake Lively is its latest face, with the 24-year-old American actress to appear in the campaign for new scent Gucci Première.

Influenced by old Hollywood charm and inspired by the fashion house's couture line of the same name, Gucci Première eau de parfum features top notes of bergamot and orange blossom, a heart of white flowers and musk, and base notes such as leather and wood.

While the scent is set to launch internationally this September, it will first hit the UK late July with exclusives at department stores Harrods and Selfridges.

Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot the ad campaign back in February, while a TV commercial has been filmed by Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn.

This isn't the first time Lively has nabbed a major fashion campaign; last year she appeared as the face of Chanel's Mademoiselle handbag line.

"Gucci is a staple. It is a brand I have always looked up to because to me it represents strength," the actress recently told WWD. - AFP RELAX NEWS
