Jessica Chastain is "thrilled" to have been named the ambassadress of a new Yves Saint Laurent scent.

The Hollywood actress is the face of feminine fragrance Manifesto, which is due end of August in France, followed by a wider release in September. Jessica is delighted to be fronting the new campaign for the iconic brand's new perfume.

“Yves Saint Laurent is a brand that inspires me deeply. Since its creation, the brand has conveyed strong values that I cherish, such as unwavering commitment, absolute love and feminine audacity,” she told WWD. “This new fragrance is the emblem of it all. I am thrilled to be a part of this beautiful adventure.”

Yves Saint Laurent Beauté International general manager Stephan Bezy insists Jessica is the perfect star to lend her face to the upcoming scent.

“We were won over by the very subtle strength of Jessica Chastain, her solar charm, her free mind. Jessica embodies the quintessence of Saint Laurent’s femininity, a woman of her day and age, independent, determined, never where you expect her to be," he gushed.

Manifesto is described as "spontaneous and free-spirited", and contains fresh and fruity notes including vanilla and blackcurrant. © Cover Media
