Pantone and Sephora planning cosmetics collaboration
The limited edition Pantone-branded beauty line is said to go on sale this coming March
A makeup collaboration between Pantone and Sephora has been inked, reported WWD December 7.
The publication has learned of a partnership between the color forecasting firm and the international cosmetics giant, which will result in a Pantone-branded beauty line.
A limited edition color cosmetics collection is reportedly to go on sale at Sephora stores and on www.sephora.com as of March 2012, with prices ranging from US$18 to US$80.
The collection's theme is said to be tangerine- and orange-shaded cosmetics and beauty accessories, following reports that Pantone's Color of the Year project has hailed this as the tone of choice for next year.
For more than a decade, Pantone has selected its Color of the Year, influencing product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries including fashion, home, and beauty. The winning shade of 2011 was Honeysuckle, a reddish-pink hue.
Sources have revealed that if Pantone's collaboration with Sephora is a success, more Sephora-Pantone collaborations could be on the cards.
Sephora's previous partnerships have included nail polish lines with OPI and a holiday capsule collection with fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld that went on sale in November. Meanwhile, Canadian rapper Drake expressed his desire to work on a fragrance line with the company back in November. --AFP RELAXNEWS
