Reese Witherspoon’s makeup artist says her biggest “beauty no-no” is “harsh pencil eyeliner”.

Beauty expert Sarah Jagger has revealed what she considers to be the biggest makeup faux pas in an interview with British magazine Closer.

But Sarah also explained how to avoid the pitfalls of badly applied makeup.

“My biggest beauty no-no is using harsh pencil eyeliner to define eyes. Smudge the line with a cotton bud instead – harsh lines simply age you and make your eyes appear smaller,” she explained.

The makeup artist, who has lent her expertise to high fashion names like Vivienne Westwood and Amanda Wakeley amongst others, shared a top trick of the trade. In charge of Reese’s perfect complexion, she revealed an unusual but effective solution to combat flare-ups.

“To hide blemishes, apply a few dabs of OptrexEyedew Dazzling Drops. The formula reduces redness, so you can apply less concealer for a natural finish,” she advised.

Sarah also named her number one beauty must-have. Looking after the pouts of Juliette Lewis and Maggie Smith, her favorite makeup product is a slick of lipgloss.

“I can’t live without Sleek Pout Paints. Apply generously for a statement lip or mix them to create a customized shade. You can use them as blushers too,” she revealed. © Cover Media
