Japanese supermodel Tao Okamoto is shu uemura’s latest beauty ambassador. “I am very excited to be the dream face of women”, shares Tao. shu uemura together with Tao aims to renew traditional Japanese beauty and inspire all over the world.
The 24-year-old model started modelling at the tender age of 14, but the defining moment in her career came in 2009 when her bowl-cut hairstyle became a statement. Since then, the fashion world has been smitten. She’s since starred in global campaigns for brands such as Ralph Lauren, D&G and Uniqlo.
For Tao, glowing skin equates to confidence and her approach to beauty is minimal. The supermodel shares her secrets on how to always be camera ready, “I have to put on and take off makeup many times a day. It is very important to heal and prepare my skin for makeup to maintain the condition of my skin. Healthy skin is the most important for good makeup.”
Her secret to maintaining her beauty? Tao says it’s “enjoying life and being true to myself”. The model also enjoys “taking a bath with scented bath salt and washing away the stress.”
