We know, we know. Never judge a book by its cover, but you can’t fault us for enjoying a little eye candy!
That’s why we’re obsessing over these beauty products that are being new this month – because not only do they make for great gifts, (we’ll let you decide if it’s a gift for yourself or your friend) they’re also really pleasing to look at.
1. Burberry Beast’s Beauty Box
You know the brand isn’t messing around with a name like that. And that much is reflected in the gorgeous packaging that is par for the course for Burberry.
The Beauty Box delivers exactly what you would expect – a package of the brand’s signature beauty goodies that will lift just about anyone’s spirits. Or well, any beauty addict’s spirits, at least.
Inside the sleek gold box is a treasure trove consisting of a grey-blue eyeshadow (Burberry Eye Colour Silk in Antique Blue No.305), a red nail polish (Black Cherry No.30), red lipstick (Burberry Kisses in Russet No.93) and a mascara (Burberry Cat Lashes in Jet Black No.01). And yes, the colours are reflective of the Burberry Beast collection colour scheme.
And to (literally) wrap it all up, the Beauty Box comes with a vibrant decorative sleeve that features artwork from the Burberry Beasts collection.
The limited edition Burberry Beast’s Beauty Box ($98) comes in one variant and is available exclusively via Burberry.com.
2. Laneige BB Cushion Crystal Edition
All that sparkles isn’t gold – it’s Swarovski crystal. Laneige has outdid itself with this limited edition design by partnering with Swarovski to release a sparkling design of both its beloved Whitening BB Cushion and Pore Control BB Cushion. The prismatic effect you see? That’s the result of the Xirius crystals embedded on the exterior of your compact.
It’s an interesting (and, in retrospect, completely appropriate) spin on the brand’s concept of ‘Sparkling Beauty’ – and like magpies drawn to all things sparkly, we love it.
The Laneige BB Cushion Crystal Edition ($58) comes in three different shades (#13, #21 and #23) and is currently on sale at all Laneige boutiques islandwide.
3. Sulwhasoo Timetreasure Renovating Eye Serum and Massager
Yes, we had to throw some skincare in here because we cannot emphasise how important it is to creating a perfect canvas.
So we suppose it’s befitting that Sulwhasoo has released a 24K gold-plated massaging tool to, you know, remind you that skincare is priority number one.
The 24K gold-plated Golden Eye Care Massager comes bundled together with the latest addition to the brand’s anti-ageing Timetreasure line: The Timetreasure Renovating Eye Serum (20ml). Sure, the red pine-infused eye serum does boast ingredients that are supposed to be really beneficial, but it’s the fact that the products come together that has us swayed.
A massaging tool, of course, helps to stimulate blood flow and energise the area around the eye. Pair it with the eye serum and you’ll be well on your way to brighter and younger-looking peepers.
The Timetreasure Renovating Eye Serum ($348) is now available at all Sulwhasoo boutiques and departmental store counters.
4. CK One Summer
July also means the more-or-less official launch of summer beauty trends, which always means fun and vibrant makeup releases.
That’s exactly the case with the 2017 edition of the iconic CK One Summer EDT. Inspired by desert festivals and well, partying until the sun rise, this unisex fragrance comes in a bright blue see-through bottle.
And since no desert landscape is complete without a sun, the textured back of the bottle mirrors a sun that rests at the base of the bottle. (You’ll have to see it in person to get what we mean.)
The CK One Summer EDT ($88) is now available at the following locations: BHG @ Bugis Junction; Metro @ The CentrePoint, Causeway Point and The Paragon; Robinsons @ JEM, The Heeren and Raffles City; Takashimaya Singapore; TANGS @ Tang Plaza and Vivo City; and all Sephora outlets.
5. Urban Decay Naked Heat eyeshadow palette
Continuing with the summer theme, we have Urban Decay’s Naked Heat palette – an apt name, given how the palette sold out like hotcakes within the first hour of the flash sale held last month.
And yes, in case you’re wondering, the palette’s sizzling shades embody all the characteristics associated with warmth; the fiery red and bright orange hue of the case itself is a far cry from the preceding Naked palettes, and it’s making our hands very itchy indeed.
As for the product proper, the palette features loads of coppery and bronzey tones that are reminiscent of, well, a hot summer day. The clincher that seals the deal for us? These colours will pop on just about every skin tone.
The Urban Decay Naked Heat palette ($83) is available at all Sephora outlets islandwide and will be available at free-standing Urban Decay stores from July 20, 2017.
