Decked out in the playful pink-on-pink ensemble she wore for her performance at Tag Heuer’s exclusive pre-F1 showcase at Ion Orchard on September 14 last week, the bubbly 25-year-old pop star plopped down onto a sofa in the VIP holding lounge and gave us a rundown of her current fashion, beauty, and music favourites.
Key takeaway from our tete-a-tete? Pop stars – they’re just like us.
Who is your favourite designer at the moment?
Jeremy Scott! I love the colours and playfulness that he incorporates into his designs. I like experimenting with fashion, so his bold pieces are right up my alley.
What are your five must-buy fashion pieces this season?
Definitely anything velvet, for starters; a fun bag – I’m loving emoji-print bags at the moment; an oversized, boxy jumper; a brightly coloured coat for the winter. Oh, and a Tag Heuer watch, of course.
What is your favourite mascara?
Maybelline, for sure. It was my very first mascara brand and I use it all the time, up to this day – even when I’m performing. I’ve tried almost all the Maybelline mascaras, so I know which ones work best for me.
What is your favourite shampoo and conditioner?
To be honest, I don’t have permanent favourites. I am always switching up my shampoos and conditioners because when my hair gets used to a particular formula, I feel like it becomes less effective.
What music do you listen to?
It depends on what mood I’m in. My current favourite is We Don’t Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth featuring Selena Gomez.
Where is your favourite country to shop?
London! I shop way too much every time I travel there. I’ll literally have to buy a new luggage and ship the whole lot back to Hong Kong. However, I’ve been travelling a lot recently, so I’d say the next best place to shop is online, from the comfort of my room.
How do you relieve stress?
I talk to my friends or scribble down lyrics for a song. I need to vent and get things off my chest. Whether it is by physically speaking to someone or writing it down, I need a way to get it out of my system.
Any news about your next album and when Singapore will see you again?
I’m not sure about my next album, but my next tour will be in 2017, so I will be back to Singapore for my chicken rice very soon!
