Popular songstress Miley Cyrus debuted her new cropped hairdo on her Twitter page after teasing fans about cutting off her longer locks.
Miley faced criticism for the edgy shaved undercut, but slammed such comments revealing her new look has boosted her spirits.
"my dad @billyraycyrus used to tell me ‘opinions are are like a** holes every body has one’ LOVE my hair ❤ feel so happy, pretty, and free (sic)," she wrote on the social networking site with an accompanying picture of her newly styled tresses.
Miley also revealed she was feeling "so happy in [her] skin" following the drastic haircut, adding: "Never felt more me in my whole life ❤ (sic)."
Kirstie Alley jumped to the star's defence after she faced a barrage of disdain from Twitter fans. The actress praised the edgy hairstyle, adding that Miley’s daring look channels some of the biggest fashion stars in history.
"LOVE your hair Queen Bee... All Mod.. Mary Quant, Twiggy, 1960's West End... LOVE (sic)," she gushed to the 19-year-old singer.
Miley had previously tweeted a picture of herself at the moment her ballet bun was to be cut off. The blonde beauty received backlash from fans at first, but was adamant about her decision.
"if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else's and it's going bye bye :) (sic)," she wrote.
Miley has changed her hair styles quite frequently over the past few months – lightening her trademark brunette hair before showing off a slick bob more recently.
