In the running for the prestigious Designer of the Year Award (Fashion) is contemporary label Dzojchen (pronounced Doh-Jen) focuses on immaculate tailoring and often plays with a juxtaposition of sartorial concepts. Redefining the term ‘polished streetwear’ is in the brand’s very DNA itself; demonstrating an edgy and coequal mix of femininity and masculinity. The one-woman powerhouse driving the brand is none other than the phenomenal Chelsea Scott-Blackhall, who is befittingly known for her laid-back androgynous aesthetic. Her creative vision on smart-casual dressing translates into her work itself with an air of simplicity and sophistication; just the kind of tools a modern woman would need to look her best in any given setting. What sets the brand apart from other Singaporean labels is its consistency in creating modish pieces without trying too hard to be different. And yet, Dzojchen manages to bring a fresh, never-before-seen medley of chic, unique pieces that stand out in their own right.
