Trend: Loafers go high
SEE PHOTOS: Loafers now sport metallic shades, thick heels and tassels for that old-meets-new lookHigh-heeled loafers are the perfect blend of old and new. If you view loafers as clunky and practical, think again. The latest show trend to hit the runway is the aristocratic heeled-loafer which gives the classic style a modern twist.
Roberto Cavalli, Alexander Wang and Moschino all featured the design on their catwalks.
Cavalli favoured rich chestnut brown leather loafers with a thick heel and classic tassels. The look was paired with skin tight animal print trousers and caramel tones.
Alexander Wang had a more futuristic approach and showcased the style in bold metallics such as silver and rich cherry red. The designer also used a chunky heel and kept the tassel for that hint of old-meets-new.
Moschino added a platform wedge around the toe and a thin heel at the back. Tones were kept pale they were paired with cream socks and ankle grazing, sequinned trousers.
To get the look experiment with different colours and styles. Try patent, prints and metallics throughout the season. Team with skinny trousers, a dark polo neck and an oversized bag for instant glamour.
