H&M Design Award 2012 has its first winner; Stine Riis from the London College of Fashion. Riis’ win was announced at Stockholm’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The winner was chosen by a jury of fashion insiders that included fashion designer Christopher Kane, noted fashion journalist Hilary Alexander, fashion blogger Susie Lau, H&M’s creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch and H&M’s head of design, Ann-Sofie Johansson.

Stine’s designs feature crisp, almost masculine lines, in rich, jewel tones and feature luxe touches like deep dyed faux fur.

Her prize included €50,000 (S$98,825) and the chance to have 15 pieces of her collection developed as a line for H&M stores. Stine’s collection will be available in September.
