Georgina Chapman would “love to” create a childrenswear line.
The actress co-founded Marchesa with Keren Craig in 2004 and the luxury label specialises in high-end women’s clothing.
Earlier this month the 36-year-old announced she is expecting her second child with husband Harvey Weinstein, and it seems the exciting news has got her thinking about new projects.
“I would love to one day [create a childrenswear line], but I don’t know if that will be anytime soon,” she said during a press conference to promote documentary special Project Runway Spotlight: Marchesa.
The documentary will give an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the successful fashion house.
Georgina also completed a stint as a judge on Project Runway: All Stars this year, where it was her job to give opinions on pieces created by up-and-coming designers.
The expectant mother admitted it’s difficult to keep your own personal tastes out of passing judgment on the show.
“I don’t compare it [to my own line] because everybody has their own aesthetic,” she asserted.
“I think your own personal taste does come into it. I can like something even if I wouldn’t design or wear it, but if I don’t like something aesthetically, it’s hard to wrap my head around it and like it as a piece.”
The designer married Harvey in 2007 and they already have daughter India Pearl together.
The British star divulged the positive effect being pregnant has on her career.
“I sometimes feel my most creative when I’m pregnant,” she explained. - COVER MEDIA
