When Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams walked down the red carpet at the Emmys, we adored her beautifully embroidered Markus Lupfer gown and ruffled Louboutins, perfectly styled with fresh bangs and high bun updo … But just when we thought her look couldn't get any better, we saw her bag.
We had to do a double-take because the prism-like bag looked very familiar, so we had a hunch that was from a brand we know all too well. As it turns out, our hunch was proven right - that bag is from Charles & Keith! Yes, the very same brand we know and love for its affordable on-trend aesthetics.
Charles & Keith has proven itself Emmy-worthy and all we have got to say is Brava! As big fans of Charles & Keith ourselves, we've constantly been featuring the local brand in our shopping stories, and seeing it at the Emmys has made us immensely proud. Has Charles & Keith opened doors for more Singapore-based brands to enter the international (say, Hollywood) market? We sure do hope so.
The Evening Wristlet comes in three colours; Bronze, Burgundy and Black, retailing at $39.90 each. Get them at Charles & Keith stores throughout Singapore! Read our story on metallic fashion must-haves here - where we feature the metallic version of the bag seen on Maisie! For more shopping stories, check out our dedicated shopping section.
UPDATE: According to a report in The Straits Times, the brand's Evening Wristlet bag in black and bronze and its white Prism Minaudiere clutch both sold out online by Wednesday (September 21, 2016)! Only the burgundy version of the Wristlet and another version of the Prism Minaudiere clutch, in multi colours, were still available.
Williams' stylist Harriet Byczok told The Telegraph: "At the Emmys, the Bafta tea party and the Emmys after parties, all of her bags were from Charles & Keith. It does cool shapes and triangle boxes, which are a quirky touch and also make her look a bit more grown up. She also wore a Charles & Keith bag to the Baftas, and I have been in love with them ever since. Charles & Keith is the new high street label to know," said the report. "Still an under-the-radar label in the UK, this is an insiders' spot for expensive-looking, sleek handbags at an affordable price," it added.
