Instagram coming to Android says Chief Executive
Android phone users can soon enjoy the popular special-effects camera app
Popular iOS app Instagram, which allows users to apply a variety of special effects to photographs -- particularly some that are reminiscent of the 1970s -- and share them with friends, is coming to Android, according to Chief Executive Kevin Systrom.
Speaking at technology conference LeWeb, which runs December 7-9 in Paris, Systrom stated "we have two people working on [an] Android [app]now."
However he was unable to specify dates when an Android verison of Instagram would reach the Android market.
Popular free photography effects applications currently available on the Android market include FxCamera and Retro Camera among others.
The number of iOS Instagram users is currently estimated to be between 14-15 million.--AFP RELAXNEWS
