Be part of Earth HourCarrefour
Carrefour Singapore has pledged to raise $10,000 for the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature Singapore in support of Earth Hour Singapore 2012. As part of the “I will If You Will” campaign, customers at Carrefour are encouraged to purchase an eco-bag for $1 instead of using plastic bags from March 29 to 31 between 7pm till closing, with the proceeds going to WWF Singapore. To spread the Earth Hour 2012 message and show its dedication to this environmental cause, Carrefour stores at Plaza Singapura and Suntec City will not be issuing plastic bags to shoppers during these three days.
 

Be part of Earth HourIKEA
Dine on delicious Swedish treats and do your part for conservation. On Saturday, both IKEA outlets at Alexandra and Tampines will be turning their restaurant lights off from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, and all proceeds collected during the hour will go to the WWF Singapore in support of their local conservation and outreach efforts.
 
 

 

 

 


Be part of Earth HouriLight Marina Bay
All 31 featured artworks will be switched off for the hour, as the public is invited to participate in a Mass Light Catcher Creation workshop at The Lawn from 6pm. A commemorative light-up will follow, along with a free movie screening of Kung Fu Panda 2 at the Nescafe PAssion Movie Night.
 
 

Be part of Earth HourOrchard Road
Be part of a one-of-a-kind human formation along Orchard Road by signing up to be an Earth Hour ambassador. Forming the shape of ‘60+ SINGAPORE’, ambassadors are encouraged to go beyond the initiative and proactively undertake sustainable action to protect the environment. Bring your environmentally-friendly candles made out of beeswax or vegetable wax to light up the darkness when the power is switched off at 8.30 pm!

 
The Body Shop Earth HourThe Body Shop
For Earth Hour this year, The Body Shop will be switching off the lights at all 37 outlets in Singapore. On top of this, The Body Shop also will be taking up Singapore’s “I Will If You Will” eco challenge where consumers will be rewarded for their recycling efforts. From March 31 till April 22, 2012, for every three recyclable containers (from The Body Shop or any other brand) presented at a The Body Shop outlet, shoppers will be rewarded with a 60ml shower gel. The Body Shop is also a product sponsor for this year’s Earth Hour goodie bag which the public will receive when they sign up to be an Earth Hour Ambassador on WWF Singapore’s website.
