New film trailer for The Hunger Games
WATCH VIDEO: Second trailer for The Hunger Games, out in cinemas March 22The second trailer for the highly anticipated film The Hunger Games was released February 2 as a preview to the commercial spot scheduled for the Super Bowl pre-show this coming Sunday.
The excerpted footage from this sci-fi adventure sets up the premise of the story, showing Katniss Everdeen giving a symbolic Mockingjay pin to her little sister for good luck. When luck doesn't play along, Katniss volunteers to replace her sister and fight to the death on live television.
The film's cast includes Jennifer Lawrence (The Winters Bone, X-Men: First Class), Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right), Elizabeth Banks (W.), Lenny Kravitz (Precious), Woody Harrelson (Friends With Benefits) and Stanley Tucci (Burlesque).
Based on the bestselling novels by Suzanne Collins, the story is set in a post-apocalyptic future. Advance tickets will be on sale February 23.
The film releases March 21-23 worldwide. It will also be in select IMAX cinemas the first week only, the studio announced on February 2.
