Women Now

There’s something for everyone at Her World Young Woman Achiever Social 2017

Besides getting inspired by successful young women, check out a range of specially curated stalls at the art market and get hands-on with workshops

We hope you’re as excited as we are about our Her World Young Woman Achiever Social (YWAS) 2017, which is rolling into town very soon on March 25, from 4pm to 6pm.

Essentially, the YWAS forum is an afternoon given over to feting #girlpower, with various female bosses dishing out success tips to hopefully inspire you to pursue what you’re truly passionate about. There’s plenty of food for thought to be had with four entrepreneurial speakers and three motivational speakers, and we can’t wait to hear their inspiring stories, which will make for a most meaningful afternoon indeed.

For the record, you’ll get up close and personal with speakers such as Amanda Eng, chief marketing and buying officer of Naiise; Carolyn Kan, founder of artisan jewellery label Carrie K.; Gina Heng, co-founder and CEO of private investment group Marvelstone and Veronica Shanti Pereira, SEA Games gold medallist.

The other fringe activities going on are not to be missed as well – for starters, you’ll get to suss out unique finds the likes of handmade jewellery, 3D-printed brooches and candles, all made or designed by Singaporeans, at The Local People Art Market.

Wondering about food? We’ve got your back. Satisfy your cravings with finger food such as burger and tacos; and sip on Thai iced tea, freshly pressed juices and more at the art market, happening from 1pm to 9pm.

It’s also the perfect time to learn a new skill, with workshops (from 3pm to 9pm) dedicated to creating soap bars, floral arrangement, leather crafting and printmaking. We’re particularly intrigued by the idea of making your very own soap bar with all-natural additives – besides customising the colours and textures, you get to choose your scent from an array of essential oils and learn about their various therapeutic properties. This sounds (and smells) like a dream, if you ask us.
