If you happen to be around Chijmes Hall last Thursday night, you might have noticed an influx of beautiful people in the vicinity.
It’s no wonder as the annual Female 50 Gorgeous People 2011 competition took place there on December 1 and the winners were chosen from what has been said to be the most interesting and varied batch of contestants since the contest started 15 years ago.
This year’s crop includes an ex-Wall Street trader, an underground supper club founder, an entrepreneur and a myriad of other personalities.
“Female’s 50 Gorgeous People event has moved beyond being just a good-looks competition to focus more on personality and character. This year’s contestants have been real, engaging and interesting,” quipped Jeanette Ejlersen, Creative Editor of Female
And with this criteria, 50 head-turners were chosen from a pool of over 400 entries to be featured in the November 2011 issue of the magazine.
This signature annual event for Female searches for men and women with the “G” factor – or Gorgeous factor – as well as a combination of personality and poise which gives them a kind of “star” quality.
Online voting commenced about a month ago at its preview event, and has attracted more than 4,000 votes.
The Most Gorgeous Male and Most Gorgeous Female - Frederick Yap and Velda Tan (pictured left) – were finally crowned by a panel of judges including Ejlersen in the finale hosted by none other than the hottest host of the moment, George Young.
Both winners are 24 years of age and run fashion company, Love, Bonito.
They also walked away with exciting prizes from fashion vouchers to beauty products including items from Banana Republic, Gap, M.A.C, Thomas Sabo and Kiehl’s.
