Longchamp’s new shoe collection
Known for creating luxurious, yet practical, leather and canvas bags – the iconic Le Pliage for example – Longchamp has now branched out into footwear with a capsule collection of shoes created for Autumn Winter 2012 and now available in Singapore.
Ranging in style from ballet flats to pumps, boots, brogues and wedges, the aim of the brand is to produce a shoe for “every mood, every occasion” for “dynamic, urban women whose style is both modern and elegant”.
Longchamp's shoe collection includes the Le Pliage Cuir ballet pump in eight colours (above top) and the fashion-forward Balzane Souple lace-up wedge brogue (above).
Available in fine calfskin and métis leather with decorative detailing like python print, metal accessories and patchwork, colours for the shoes range from classic neutrals like black and beige to on-trend brights burgundy and teal.
The standout shoe for Autumn Winter 2012 is the Balzane Souple ankle boot based on the bag range of the same name and available in the season’s shades of Burgundy, Walnut and Duck Blue.
If you’re looking for a stylish, hardwearing and comfortable flat shoe to get you through your day, try Longchamp’s series of Le Pliage Cuir lace-up brogues and ballet pumps; there are eight colours to choose from in soft, supple, métis leather.
Other options for the more fashion-forward include the Cosmos 70s-inspired knee-high boot with an 11cm heel; the Reptiligne line with its combination of python-styled calfskin leather and graphic styled flats, pumps and “must buy” low boot.
The new Longchamp range of shoes combine the brand’s skill with leather and practical styling, producing footwear that will not only last and be comfortable, but will do so with a dash of French je ne sais quoi.
The Longchamp shoe collection is available in Singapore from the Longchamp boutiques at Paragon Shopping Centre and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Prices start at $441 for the Le Pliage Cuir ballerina flats. For more information about Longchamp, go to www.longchamp.com.
