Missoni clan love food
Rosita Missoni has been praised for her “firm opinions” about cookery.
The Italian founded iconic fashion house Missoni back in 1953 along with husband Ottavio, and their unique knitwear and colourful patterns have gone on to become firm style staples.
The label is famed for hosting extravagant post-show dinners during Milan Fashion Week, and writer Adam Rapoport decided to feature the Missoni family in magazine Bon Appetit, with an issue dedicated to cooking like an Italian.
“The Missoni family, they’re a big fashion famiglia, but they also are a typical Italian family,” explained Adam.
“They eat together, they’re tightly knit. Rosita, the matriarch, she really knows food and ingredients. She’s got firm opinions about it like a lot of Italian nonnas do.”
In the May edition of Bon Appetit Rosita is joined by Ottavio and other members of the Missoni clan including daughter Angela, who is creative director for the brand. The family were photographed by Alexia Silvagni, and reveal their best-guarded family recipes including baked whole fish with potatoes and lemons. Ottavio, who is also known as Tai, also discusses his famous shrimp salad. © Cover Media
