Shoe devotees rejoice. American budget shoe retailer Payless has finally reached Singapore.
Payless ShoeSource is well known in America for its super affordable but fashionable range of shoes, and you can find a Payless store everywhere you turn in America.
What Payless is better known for though, are its phenomenally successful designer collaborations, like their exclusive-to-Payless Christian Siriano, Lela Rose, Patricia Fields and Isabel Toledo – just to name a few – lines of shoes that sell out almost as quickly as they hit shelves.

To date, perhaps the most well received guest designer collaboration has to be the Christian Siriano collection, as the Project Runway season four winner recently expanded his line for Payless – there will now be four collections a year instead of two – and which will also include a Christian Siriano for Payless Gold Label collection, with shoes that are directly modelled after the ones seen on the Christian Siriano runways.

With the opening of Payless in Singapore, shoe lovers can finally get their hands on these coveted collaborations, the same day the shoes land in stores in America. What’s more, the prices for the shoes in Singapore are surprisingly close to their retail prices over there, shoes start from $12.90 and go up to $99.90.
And there’s more good news. According to the company’s spokesperson, we’ve heard that Payless plans to open another 20 stores in Singapore within two years, which is something to be happy about, as it means more fabulously priced shoes to go around.
If you’re new to Payless, here’s a tip. Don’t expect your Payless shopping experience to be like your run-of-the-mill shoe stores elsewhere in Singapore.
The store operates mostly on a self-service concept, where racks upon racks of shoes are divided according to sizes, with all the available designs in that size laid out in their boxes. Customers are encouraged to pick up the entire shoebox and head to the cashier to make their purchases, so they don’t have to deal with a store assistant if they don’t wish to.
We like how easy it is for us to shop at Payless, there’s no need to wait for store assistants to bring out a pair of shoes in your size from their storeroom, or be intimidated when you want to try every single pair in the store.
The Christian Siriano Gold Label and his regular Christian Siriano for Payless collection, alongside with the Lela Rose for Payless and Isabel Toledo for Payless collections are currently available in Payless, as well as other brands that Payless carries such as Zoe & Zac, Lower East Side, Fioni, Trash and more.
Payless is located at #02-31/33/35/37 Suntec City, #02-32/33/34 Centrepoint and #01-04/05 Changi City Point.
