Show off your curves with a fishtail frock
Vera Wang says most women look great in a mermaid-tail wedding dress. “A mermaid shape clearly articulates the curves of the body. Ideal for an afternoon or an evening wedding, it also suits many body types; elongating on small women and extremely flattering on full body shapes,” she said.
Flattering on all: The A-line skirt
For those who don’t want such a clingy dress, Vera suggests opting for an A-line skirt. The shape is universally flattering and always stays in style.
“An A-line shape is always elongating. Worn full, an A-line can be extravagant without sacrificing silmness, while a narrow A-line can be dressy or informal. This versatile shape also minimises a heavy figure,” she said.
“When choosing a neckline, a bride should consider her weight, height, bone structure and age. The smaller the bride, the shorter she will look with a décolleté; the older the bride, the less she should reveal,” she told the British edition of Grazia magazine.
