With Valentine’s Day less than a week away, reservations at really romantic restaurants in Singapore are probably already all snapped up. But don’t worry, these gorgeous cafes with special Valentine’s Day deals are still available for booking. While not the poshest, they would still make for a delightful spot for that romantic meal with bae on the special day.

Marble Bistro

This relatively new café is swathed in elegant marble surfaces – hence the name – with a minimalist black-and-white scheme that belies its complex food offerings. For Valentine’s Day, they will be serving up a six-course menu ($48 per pax) that comprises of a mushroom macchiato and toast served with a dollop of mushroom duxelle, a scallop tartare dumpling using Hokkaido scallops and pan-seared foi gras served with an apple tart. There are three choices for the mains, pork jowl, leg of poulet and beef steak. Our pick is for the latter, a succulent flank cut that was sous-vide for six hours and served with a side of cauliflower couscous, sweet potatoes and coriander garlic barbeque sauce. Complete your meal with a citrusy-sweet chocolate yuzu molten cake.

Jewel Café and Bar

Located along Rangoon Road, which is home to a number of cafes, Jewel is a well-known brunch house serving delicious and hearty nosh that is comfort for the soul. This stylish eatery stares out into the street, with a statement-making ceiling complete with exposed light bulbs and funky copper panels hanging from it. Their exclusive Valentine’s Day menu is available from 11am onwards, and is priced at $79 per couple, inclusive of two starters, two mains and a dessert to share. If you wish to include wine, it will be priced at $95 per couple. We are particularly excited about the minestrone soup, one of the starters, which is a special house recipe made from a scrumptious blend of zucchini, onion, and celery that is then cooked with tomato pronto. For mains, look out for the pan-seared salmon fillet, served with lightly-salted potatoes and a zesty orange salsa.

My Art Space Café

For some peace and quiet this Valentine’s Day, we’ll recommend the under-the-radar My Art Space, which is situated within Istana Park (the patch of green opposite Plaza Singapura, for the uninitiated). It is housed inside a glasshouse that overlooks the surrounding greenery and the gleaming blue waters of the nearby fountain, so it’s really romantic. The Valentine’s Day menu is priced at just $58 per couple, and comprises two glasses of red wine to go with the angel hair pasta dishes, one of which comes with sautéed salmon and rosemary cream sauce while the other is served with crab claw meat. Dessert is a heart-shaped chocolate cake to share. For a fun date activity, consider signing up for the art jamming session with the café as well.

Festooned with blooms and foliage and decked out in rustic wooden chairs and tables, this nature-inspired café is dreamy, whimsical and oh-so-lovely, making it the perfect spot for this special meal with bae. But instead of coming with just your SO, rope in another pair of love birds and make this a double date. Why? Because the café is offering a special rate for double daters. Their Valentine’s Day menu is priced at $118 per couple but will be offered at $78 per couple for double dates. The four-course menu consists of a soup of the day, an appetiser that you can choose from a classic baked potato or garden salad, a main course of prawn pasta, ribeye or a salmon steak. Dessert is an indulgent chocolate lava cake.

Opt for something a little out of the ordinary with Birds of a Feather’s four-course Valentine’s Day menu ($199 per couple) that consists of Western dishes with a Sichuan slant. Thoughtfully put together, the menu features the flavour elements of sour, bitter, sweet and spicy in the form of pickled shimeji, osmanthus jelly, kale, and pork ragout respectively. The dinner set features two glasses of sparkling wine which you pair with pan-seared foie gras or cured salmon, a spicy bologneses featuring sakura ebi, a choice of mains between a braised beef short ribs served with Japanese rice, pickled vegetables and daikon puree or a charcoal grilled barramundi served with mentaiko, and a white sesame parfait for dessert. If their usual offerings are anything to go by, you’ll be served with very prettily plated dishes for Insta-worthy moments.

It’s a true testament to their food (and their gorgeous 3D latte art which they are known for) when the café still manages to thrive despite the steep competition from the million and one awesome eateries at Changi Village. For Valentine’s Day, this quaint corner stop located under a HDB will be offering a dinner set priced at $129, where you will select from an appetiser, two homemade soups, two main courses, and a dessert. Highlights include their German currywurst which you can opt for under appetisers, their spaghetti with wild mushrooms and truffle oil, and their bangers and mash, comprising English pork sausages served with onion gravy, vegetables and mashed potatoes.

Go during the day, to enjoy the verdant views and the warm daylight that casts a lovely glow into the spacious interiors. Accommodating a café and a design studio in its black-and-white dual-floor colonial house, dining at DW Workshop feels just like having a meal at home—albeit an atas one. There is a “living” room area featuring a hodgepodge of chairs, a “dining” room setting with a round table, an outdoor lounge zone as well as cosy “fireplace” setting with a number of cushions sprawled across a rug. There is also a communal dining area decked out in marble-topped tables on the upper levels. For Valentine’s Day, the café is offering a special set for two priced at $160. Start the meal with a refreshing cold gazpacho soup, then choose between the baked salmon trout or juicy beef tenderloin. Save room for afters because dessert is a decadent chocolate paradise dessert cake.

A cheery spot defined by bright spots of yellows and blues in a white backdrop furnished with light woods, W39 Bistro feels friendly and non-intimidating, great if you’re here on a Valentine’s first date. Their dinner for two is $88 per couple, and there is a soup, an entrée, a main course and dessert. To go with the cream of cauliflower and homemade crab cakes starters, you get to choose from five different mains. For meat lovers, there is the grilled pork jowl that comes with a side of cucumber and onion pickles and potato puree or the baked lamb ribs served alongside fries and shredded cucumber yoghurt. Dessert is a eye-pleasing creation titled Garden of Eden, comprising Nutella and almond cookies, strawberries, matcha “soil”, a shot of espresso and caramel biscuit ice cream.

The epitome of hipster cafes, industrial-chic Wheeler’s Yard needs no introduction. Unlike its café counterparts, it will be offering a Kaiseki-style menu for Valentine’s Day, encompassing a total of 10 dishes specially curated by its head chef. Each set is priced at $99 per couple, and will feature the following: a cold tofu, bontan prawn, sake miso clam soup, a crab cocktail comprising an avocado puree, ebiko mayo, edamame and croutons, salmon tataki, chicken breast smoked with salt, seven spice and yuzu pepper, braised daikon, rice, onsen egg and a refreshing grape sorbet to cleanse the palate.

The all-day breakfast café is slightly posher than the rest of the ones in the list. Not surprisingly, so is their Valentine’s Day menu. A two-course set will set you back $60 per person, while a three-course meal will cost $70 per person. For two courses, you can choose from an entrée and main or a main and a dessert tasting plate while three courses will comprise an entrée, main and the dessert. Each set will start with a glass of Rosé Prosecco and Brazilian chocolate fudge balls. Entrée selections include a goat curd and capsicum tartlet that is served with a micro salad, a smoked salmon paired with brioche toasts, and foie gras with brioche toasts and fig compote. Highlights from the mains selection are the salmon fillet with potato rosti and hollandaise, and the grilled sirloin served with gratin dauphinoise, roasted field mushrooms and herb butter. If you want something lighter, opt for the vegetarian-friendly baked pumpkin sweet potato salad that comprises baby spinach, toasted pine nuts, chickpeas, tomatoes drizzled with a honey mustard dressing. Dessert is a delightful tasting plate of four desserts: Coeur a la crème with red berries, chocolate Chantilly crème, lemon curd vacherin with passion fruit mousse and mangoes, and a Persian love cake.
