Cheese lovers, rejoice! It seems like the new cheesy patisserie craze is only picking up steam, so who else should join the scene but the Japanese?
On April 29 this year, Bake Cheese Tart will be opening its fifth overseas store in Singapore – which also just happens to be the first flagship store in Southeast Asia, too.
That’s right, Hokkaido’s famous freshly baked cheese tarts will be making their way to Singapore, freshly baked and perfectly cheesy.
Why Singapore? Besides the obvious (why not?), President and CEO of Bake, Shintaro Naganuma, says: “Tourists from around the region and world often come to or transit in Singapore. Also, Singaporeans often post their reviews on the Internet and social media, so information about our cheese tarts will reach shores beyond just Singapore.”
You know what that means, ladies! Keep up with the #foodporn posts on Instagram, and before you know it, we’ll have all our favourite brands right here in Singapore.
And just in case you haven’t seen videos of Bake’s fluffy tarts or the ridiculous queues at its Hong Kong store on your Facebook newsfeed, then we’re here to bring you up to speed.
What makes its tarts exquisitely high in demand is the fact that its filling is a blend of three different types of cream cheese – two from Hokkaido, and one from France.
The pastries are then cooked in a two-step process, resulting in a perfectly crunchy shell and light, fluffy filling.
If that isn’t enough to make you salivate with anticipation, then perhaps this picture will.
Excited yet? We definitely are! We’re more than ready to tuck into these legendary pastries. Bon appetit!
Know what else you should be excited for? Hello Kitty cafe is coming to Singapore! Yes, finally!
